LEAD Business is a national partnership of top U.S. corporations and graduate business schools that encourages talented students from diverse backgrounds to pursue careers in business.

For nearly three decades, LEAD and its partners have fostered the development of a talented, driven, and civic-minded pool of African American, Hispanic, underrepresented Asian American, and Native American high school students from across the country.

LEAD Business facilitates a meaningful and transformative experience in business for young leaders – intended to inspire personal growth and foster the development of the skill sets necessary to be successful in business.

PROGRAM

LEAD Business partners with corporations such as the FDIC and Deutsche Bank, as well as some of the top business schools in the U.S., among them the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and the Tuck School at Dartmouth College, to develop Summer Business Institutes (SBIs).

SBIs are 3 to 4 week residential programs that immerse participants in a range of topics from finance and marketing, to e-commerce and entrepreneurship. LEAD students (LEADers) attend SBIs the summer of their junior year which serve as the foundation for lifelong partnerships between outstanding students and the nation's leading corporations and business schools.

Applicants are identified in partnership with local communities and guided through a highly competitive application process. Students are evaluated based on PSAT and other standardized test scores, grade-point averages, teacher recommendations, and personal essays.

The success of LEAD Business’s past alumni continues to produce significant demand. Today, LEAD receives more than 1,200 applications each year to fill just 300 available seats.

The most complex social challenges- such as postsecondary access and success for underrepresenated students, diversification for the workforce, poverty, environmental degredation, and global health- exceed the problem-solving capacity of single organizations or societal sectors. Organization for Social Partnership provides colleges and universities, corporations, government agencies, nonprofits, and other organizations with a model for how to effectivley address these and other pressing social issues through strong, effective collaboration.
